Photography is more than my profession, it’s my passion, my creative outlet, and the way I help families preserve what matters most.
Ceci Portraits is a San Diego photography studio specializing in maternity and newborn photography. Established in 2010 by Cecilia Huerta as a full-service boutique portrait studio located in Chula Vista, California, we serve families throughout San Diego County.
Originally known as Sophia Grace Photography, the studio was named after my firstborn daughter. In 2025, the business was thoughtfully rebranded as Ceci Portraits Fine Art Photography and our sister brand Ceci Boudoir, to reflect the expansion of services and to clearly distinguish the brand as it grew. In addition to family portraiture, Cecilia also offers boudoir, women’s empowerment, and underwater portrait experiences through her sister brand, Ceci Boudoir.

Hi, I’m Cecilia huerta
I absolutely love photographing life’s defining moments; the milestones that give meaning, connection, and purpose. But more than that, I believe deeply in preserving legacy. We live in the most photographed generation in history, yet so many images are never truly enjoyed. They live on phones, hard drives, and clouds — rarely held, displayed, or passed down. That’s why I believe photographs deserve to be printed and experienced.
I’m not the type of photographer who hands you a USB and sends you on your way. I guide you through the entire process — from planning and styling to selecting artwork that will live beautifully in your home. My goal is for your portraits to become part of your family’s story, not just files you scroll past.

As a mother myself, I understand the power of seeing your children’s faces on your walls — the reminder of how small they once were, how much they’ve grown, and how quickly time moves.

A Few Fun Facts About Me
I am the proud and happy mother of four girls. My oldest is who I had originally named my business after and the other three are triplets! They are the world to me and they make me smile every single day, A LOT! But they also make me hide in the pantry and eat cookies alone.
I’ve photographed everything from landscapes to red carpets, but newborn photography holds my heart
Empowering women through boudoir and portraiture is one of the most rewarding parts of my work
I love makeup… even though most days I wear none
Cooking, crafting, sewing, and making my own props bring me joy
Coffee, sparkling wine, cheese, salsa, dark chocolate, and tacos are non-negotiables
I hold a degree from the University of Maryland in HR Management and spent nearly 20 years in the legal field — and don’t miss office life one bit

For those looking for a newborn photographer:
We did a consultation over the phone to decide what theme and color schemes we wanted. She was able to provide examples from her portfolo, while also including ways to personalize our photos and make them unique. The outcome was better than we imagined!
As for final photograph "investments" (aka printed photos/prints) - I was skeptical at first. With previous photographers, we were given usb drives and opted to print them ourselves. This time around, we decided to splurge and purchase acrylic prints and blocks and I can't express how much we love them! Totally worth it and better than anything I could have achieved on my own.
For those looking for a family photo session:
We had a 1 and 4 year old, 2 grandparents, and oursleves (couple). Cecilia was able to help guide my decision on a location for photos that could accommodate all of our needs and mobility issues. The session itself felt chaotic because the kids were...well, kids! Cecilia was wonderful thruought the session and even brought kid friendly props and toys to keep them entertained and engaged. I was nervous that we would not get a decent photo - but Cecilia worked her magic and got several keepsake shots!
10/10 would recommend Cecilia for photos. We will definitely reach out for future sessions with her.
